In 2019, Jeremy returned to Mount Everest through the Youngest Everest Singaporean (YES2019) expedition, applying the experience and lessons gained from his first attempt two years earlier. Following weeks of acclimatisation and preparation, he successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest (8,848m) on 22 May 2019, becoming the youngest Singaporean to climb Mount Everest twice.
The dream of climbing the Seven Summits began in 2005, when Jeremy Tong first discovered the challenge of ascending the highest mountain on each of the seven continents. What started as a distant aspiration soon became a lifelong pursuit—one defined not only by summits, but by setbacks, perseverance and personal growth.
Although Jeremy had already summited Mount Kosciuszko (2014) and Mount Kilimanjaro (2015), it was in 2022 that the Holistic Way Singaporean Seven Summits project was officially launched with the vision of completing the remaining peaks while inspiring others to pursue ambitious goals through resilience, preparation and purposeful leadership.
The journey has been far from straightforward. Jeremy has faced multiple unsuccessful attempts on Aconcagua, reaching 6,700 metres in 2023 and 6,000 metres in 2024, while his first attempt on Mount Everest in 2017 ended just 170 metres below the summit at approximately 8,700 metres. Rather than marking the end of the dream, these experiences became defining milestones that ultimately led to later successes on Everest (2019), Denali (2023), Mount Elbrus (2024) and Vinson Massif (2025).
Today, Jeremy has successfully summited six of the Seven Summits, with Aconcagua remaining as the final peak to complete the challenge. More than a mountaineering objective, the Holistic Way Singaporean Seven Summits represents a commitment to lifelong learning, resilience and the belief that every setback is an opportunity to grow. It embodies the philosophy that has guided Jeremy throughout his journey—No Dream Too Big, Dare to Climb, and Building the EVEREST Mindset.
